I grew up in abuse and kept it secret for years, becoming who others needed me to be. In my 30s I finally asked for help and began choosing differently. I’ve shed many layers, broken cycles, and protected my kids. I’m naming my butterfly Phoenix for the person I’ve become and the life I’ve rebuilt.
